Shukushukuma Beadwork project
At the Shukushukuma Beadwork Project, local women are taught a variety of the beading techniques needed to make a range of traditional and modern designs.

Each beader is her own business entity, and a high regard for quality and craftsmanship is vital to the success of her business. The products are distributed locally and internationally. In particular demand are The Topsy Tots, a trio of beaded children, which was exclusively designed for Topsy by Christine Fischer, a well-known Johannesburg artist. This attractive fashion accessory also serves as a vehicle for raising awareness of the plight of children affected by HIV and AIDS.
Topsy’s beadwork products are sold at various outlets both locally and internationally, while exhibitions are often arranged at corporate venues.
